About Us
Saul Steinhardt and Leo Klebanow founded Dow Cover Company in 1947 on Dow Street in New Haven, Ct.  Initially cutting and sewing automobile seat covers and convertible tops, later the company began to supply contract sewing services to various industries including fashion, food service, military, and recreation.
During the 1980's 1990's as the textile industry moved aggressively to Asia Dow Cover initiated a series of equipment purchases to enable it to compete in the domestic marketplace. These purchases included an Eton Unit production System with 75 work stations and automated Gerber CAD and cutting equipment.
Dow Cover currently offers manufacturing service to a number of clients. New customers include clients with unique business plans reaching niche domestic and export markets that demand made in USA.
