We are happy to be a part of the New England textile industry for over 75 years

Saul Steinhardt and Leo Klebanow founded Dow Cover Company in 1947 on Dow Street in New Haven, CT. They initially went into business cutting and sewing automobile seat covers and convertible tops. As the company grew in size and capability so did their customer base. Contract sewing work for fashion, recreation, food service, the U.S. military, and industrial manufacturers began to replace the custom car covers and accessories business.

In the 80's and 90's, as most of the textile industry moved aggressively to Asia, Dow Cover committed to manufacturing in New Haven, Connecticut. After a series of equipment purchases, including a 75 station ETON unit production system and Gerber CAD, Spreading, and Cutting systems; The company began to focus on customers with unique business plans reaching niche domestic and export markets that demand made in USA.

The textile and sewn products industries have changed even more with the digital age and the era of fast fashion. Dow Cover's diversified capabilities and customer base allow us to compete in this ever changing environment and focus on manufacturing high quality sewn products... delivered on time.
